A monthly drone flight over a site produces a permanent, dated, geo-tagged record that becomes useful for progress reporting to investors, for compliance and safety review, for resolution of any subsequent dispute over what was built when, and ultimately for the project’s marketing once it is complete.
We work with builders, project managers, principal contractors, and developer clients to plan a documentation cadence that fits the project timeline — typically monthly across the structural phases, fortnightly through fit-out, and a final hero shoot at handover. Each flight is logged, each delivery is dated, and the entire archive is held in a structured folder hierarchy you can hand to your insurer or your buyer with confidence.
What a typical monitoring flight delivers
A standard monitoring flight produces a fixed set of repeating shots — the same vantage points, the same focal lengths, the same flight paths — month after month, so that the time-lapse comparison is genuinely apples-to-apples. We supplement these with whatever the month requires: detailed shots of newly poured slabs, façade progress, services rough-in, landscaping milestones, or anything the project manager has flagged for the board pack.
Deliverables include the full-resolution JPEG and RAW files, an indexed PDF of the month’s hero shots with dates and brief notes, and where requested a stitched 4K video flythrough that compresses the month’s work into thirty seconds. At project completion we assemble the entire run into a single time-lapse film suitable for the client’s marketing and for awards submissions.
Safety, compliance, and site coordination
Drone work on an active construction site requires more planning than open-field flying. We coordinate with the site supervisor on the morning of each flight, agree a no-overhead zone for any worker movement, follow the site’s induction and PPE protocols, and avoid flying during crane operations or concrete pours unless those are themselves the subject of the documentation.
We are CASA accredited and fully insured, and we hold the appropriate operational documentation expected by tier-one builders and government clients. If your project requires sub-contractor pre-qualification, we are happy to provide insurance certificates, pilot credentials, and our standard operating procedures for review.
Beyond monitoring — marketing and sales
The same site visits that produce your monthly progress documentation can be extended, with very little additional cost, to produce marketing-grade content for your sales team. Most engagements begin with a brief — an email, a phone call, or a meeting on site. We respond within one working day with availability, indicative pricing, and any clarifying questions. Quotes are fixed where the brief allows; hourly where the brief is open-ended. We invoice on completion and accept bank transfer, card, or PayPal.
Imagery is delivered through a private gallery link with full-resolution download, typically within 24 to 48 hours for fast-turnaround real estate work and within one to two weeks for larger commissions. Where the engagement involves video, we deliver master files in the codecs and frame rates your platform requires, alongside vertical and square cuts for social where these have been part of the brief.
We are quiet on site, dressed neutrally, and unobtrusive in the way we work. We do not bring spectators. We arrive on time and we leave a site no more disturbed than we found it. Compliance & insurance — what it means for your project
Bayside Aerial is CASA accredited and the chief pilot is UK GVC and A2CofC trained, with full third-party public liability insurance. ABN 51 325 381 892. All flights are logged in accordance with CASA requirements, and all imagery is geo-tagged and time-stamped. We can supply documentation for review by clients, body corporates, builders, or insurers on request.
This compliance matters in practical ways. Real estate listing portals will not accept aerial imagery from non-compliant operators. Construction sites and tier-one builders require sub-contractor pre-qualification with current insurance. Wedding venues increasingly ask for evidence of cover.
