Cinematic aerial coverage of your wedding day — venue establishing shots, ceremony, celebration, and signature golden hour reveals.

The view of your day you would never otherwise see
The morning of a wedding has its own quality of attention. There are dozens of small moments — the venue waking up, the cars arriving, the first guests gathering on the lawn — that the bridal party simply does not see, because they are inside getting ready. Aerial photography captures all of it, gently and without intrusion, and gives you back a record of your day from a perspective only the sky was watching.
By the time you walk down the aisle the drone is overhead in establishing position, capturing the geometry of the ceremony — the two of you, the celebrant, the guests in arc, the venue and landscape framing it all. By the time the speeches begin the drone is documenting the celebration from above. By golden hour we have you and your partner alone for the signature aerial portraits that have become one of the most-shared frames of the modern wedding album.
Quiet, careful, never intrusive
Drones at weddings have a reputation, sometimes deservedly, for being noisy and disruptive. We work hard to be the opposite. We fly current-generation cinema drones with the quietest available propellers, we fly at altitudes and stand-offs that put the sound below the level of conversation, and we never fly directly overhead during the ceremony or the speeches. Most of our wedding clients tell us afterwards that they did not notice the drone was there.
We coordinate carefully with your wedding photographer and videographer, your celebrant, and your venue’s restrictions. The aerial coverage is an addition to your ground-based team, not a competitor — and the deliverables we hand over are designed to integrate seamlessly into your photographer’s album and your videographer’s edit.

What you receive
Standard wedding packages include a curated set of edited stills (typically 15 to 30 final images covering venue, ceremony, group, and golden hour portraits), and a 60-to-90-second cinematic film built around the day’s signature moments, music-licensed and ready to share. Extended packages add a longer film, full-resolution RAW files, and prints of selected hero images.
Delivery is within two weeks for the film and one week for the curated stills. We are happy to brief in advance with your photographer and videographer to ensure the styling, colour, and pacing of the aerial coverage matches their work — many of the films we produce are eventually edited together with the ground-based footage into a single wedding film.
Pricing and booking
Wedding pricing starts from $100 AUD per hour with editing options on top — see our estimate tool for an indicative quote, or get in touch with your venue, date, and a brief description of the day. We are based on the bayside and travel anywhere in Greater Melbourne. Regional Victorian weddings are warmly considered; travel and any required accommodation are quoted transparently.
We typically take a small number of weddings each weekend through the season, so early booking is sensible. Get in touch as soon as you have a date and a venue.
Why local pilots make a difference
There is a meaningful difference between a drone operator who travels into a suburb for the first time on shoot day and one who flies it week in, week out. Local familiarity translates into faster setup, smarter shot lists, fewer wasted batteries chasing the wrong light, and a much higher hit rate of usable frames per hour on site. Bayside Aerial is based on the bayside and our pilots fly Elwood, St Kilda, Brighton, Albert Park, Port Melbourne and the surrounding inner-south suburbs constantly.
That regularity matters specifically for wedding drone photography & videography work. Each suburb has its own combination of helicopter flight paths, residential overflight density, beach-crowd patterns, prevailing winds across Port Phillip Bay, and seasonal airspace activity around major events. We track all of this as part of routine flight planning, and our clients benefit from never having a shoot delayed by a regulatory issue we should have spotted in advance.
How we deliver, and what to expect
Most engagements begin with a brief — an email, a phone call, or a meeting on site. We respond within one working day with availability, indicative pricing, and any clarifying questions. Quotes are fixed where the brief allows; hourly where the brief is open-ended. We invoice on completion and accept bank transfer, card, or PayPal.
Imagery is delivered through a private gallery link with full-resolution download, typically within 24 to 48 hours for fast-turnaround real estate work and within one to two weeks for larger commissions. Where the engagement involves video, we deliver master files in the codecs and frame rates your platform requires, alongside vertical and square cuts for social where these have been part of the brief.
We are quiet on site, dressed neutrally, and unobtrusive in the way we work. We do not bring spectators. We arrive on time and we leave a site no more disturbed than we found it. Many of our long-standing clients tell us this professionalism — as much as the imagery itself — is the reason they continue to book us.
Compliance & insurance — what it means for your project
Bayside Aerial is CASA accredited and the chief pilot is UK GVC and A2CofC trained, with full third-party public liability insurance. ABN 51 325 381 892. All flights are logged in accordance with CASA requirements, and all imagery is geo-tagged and time-stamped. We can supply documentation for review by clients, body corporates, builders, or insurers on request.
This compliance matters in practical ways. Real estate listing portals will not accept aerial imagery from non-compliant operators. Construction sites and tier-one builders require sub-contractor pre-qualification with current insurance. Wedding venues increasingly ask for evidence of cover. Insurance claims involving drone imagery require flight logs and pilot credentials. Where any of these matter to your project, we have the paperwork ready.
